It's not my quote but I read it somewhere and it inspired me to write an article about weight loss and the devastating feeling of “useless” workouts – when you keep going to the gym and you don’t get results. (Click here to read it).
Making an effort yet seemingly not making any progress makes it hard to stay motivated. If there’s no excitement and success you might feel stuck. It is an awful and heavy feeling to bear. But feeling "stuck” is temporary! Like being stuck in traffic, it is nerve wracking and it seems like you’ll never get out of it but then, however slowly, cars start to move and you will get home.
Have you noticed that when you’re really disappointed or sad sooner or later you start to do something about it? You already know that something has to change. Maybe you don’t know exactly what or how but if your mind is set to finding a resolution and you keep looking, somehow, some way, a solution will present itself. But you have to get out there and find it!
Life altering solutions don’t tend to fall in your lap and the people who can improve your life won’t just walk through the door either. You have to go for it! You have to be out there with an open mind - work hard, actively search, study, focus, meet new people and believe in positive change.
