Quote Of The Week - Week 3
One of the main differences between those who succeed and those who don’t is the word “yet”.
“ I’m not strong enough. Yet.” “I don’t know how to do this. Yet.” “I can’t handle this. Yet.”
Selver Ahmed, IFBB bikini athlete, on motivation.
Selver says motivation doesn’t exist. Habits, discipline and setting big goals are the way to move forward.
Let me add a few thoughts on this. To have a goal you have to clarify exactly what you want to achieve and why. This means you must have a clear reason as to why you’ll make sacrifices and what you are willing to sacrifice - time with friends, family, sleep, favorite foods...?
Unfortunately these goals/long-lasting changes usually come with a difficult journey. But the beauty of the thing is that you can set your mind to positivity. You can make that journey less difficult if you don’t regard discipline as a form of self-punishment. Don’t look at every temptation as something pleasant that you have to avoid for possible future benefits. Try to just see it as good things that you do for your own well-being.
To create lasting changes you need to build habits by REPETITIVE ACTION. It takes time and it is often unpleasant but if you believe it is good for you and you know why you’re doing it, the process will be easier to bear. It is that simple and it is that complicated.
